Happy Chuseok!
Happy Chuseok! |
Today, September 22, 2010, Koreans celebrate their Chuseok Holiday or Thanksgiving Holiday. For us to have a clear vision of what a their holiday means, let me share to you this information about Chuseok.
Chuseok (Korean: 추석), originally known as Hangawi (한가위) (from archaic Korean for "great middle"), is a major harvest festival and a three-day holiday in Korea celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar. Like many other harvest festivals, it is held around the Autumn Equinox. As a celebration of the good harvest, Koreans visit their ancestral hometowns and share a feast of Korean traditional food such as songpyeon.
Usually, Chuseok Holiday is a time were families get together and celebrate. It's also a time to rest for those people who has been busy during the whole year. People also do traditional dances, fun games and a lot more, in paying tribute for the whole years' harvest.
During Chuseok Holiday, Korean stars have this "tradition" of using a hanbok dress (traditional Korean dress) while greeting the Korean people Haepi Chuseok! (I'll show you some pictures of Korean stars wearing their hanbok dress next time)
For now let me show you this pictures..

My Girlfriend is a Gumiho: Happy or Tragic End?
The "Hoi" Couple |
SBS Drama "My Girlfriend is a Gumiho" will be airing its last four episodes this next two weeks. But, with the last episodes' "spice", fans and viewers of the said drama are having several thoughts about how will the romantic-comedy drama will end.
Since the first airing of their first episode last August 11, "My Girlfriend is a Gumiho" got a not-so-good ratings due to "Baker King, Kim Tak Goo". Despite of that, immature Cha Dae-Woong (Lee Seung-Ki) and 500 years old Gumiho (Shin Min-Ah) was loved by the viewers due to their lovely characters and is now known as the "Hoi couple" (watch Episode 2 to know about the "hoi" thing).
With the approaching end of the drama, the broadcast agent revealed, "The director and the writers are debating on whether to keep the original storyboard or swap it with a completely different ending. The cast and staff have been forbidden from speaking about it. Please stay tuned."
With this revelation, I can't help myself on thinking how would the Hong sisters and the director will make this drama's ending a wonderful one.
(My Girlfriend is a Gumiho will not be airing this Wednesday, September 22, due to Chuseok Holiday special programs, but will be airing both Episode 13 and 14 on Thursday, September 23.)
Let me share to you some pictures from last episodes..
